Emigrants pouring out of the Netherlands

CBS reported today that last year the Netherlands saw a population growth of only 30,000, the lowest since 1900. The scant growth is largely due to the large number of emigrants.
The report outlines that in 2005 a total of 121,000 people left the Netherlands, a significent increase from 110,000 in 2004. Almost half of the people that decided to settle abroad were native Dutch; a significant part of them settled in Belgium, Germany, U.K. and the Netherlands Antilles.
The number of immigrants stabilised at 94,000 in 2005, roughly the same amount as the year before. There was a sharp drop in the number of Moroccan and Turkish immigrants, while the number of Polish immigrants increased from 2,000 in 2004 to 7,000 in 2005. The Polish was the second largest group after repatriating Dutch.
