Big Boy statue in Holland

Yesterday we saw a Big Boy statue in Kaatsheuvel. Instead of holding a plate with a burger, he’s got a giant Coca-Cola strapped on.
I got a kick out of seeing this classic American image being used as a mascot for a very typically Dutch institution – a snackbar.
(Look Dad – they serve broodjes!)
I was also surprised to see that the Big Boy chain is alive and well. Have you ever seen a Big Boy statue in an unusual place?

I just discovered your blog and scrolling through the Life in Holland section. I have lived overseas for a few years now and stumble across these pictures that have been taking around the corner from where my parents used to live!! I know this chipshop and I never gave the statue any thought, but now that you mention it: It is Big Boy!!
