Historic center of Werne in Germany

Yesterday we visited our friends Mike and Tina in the small town of Werne in the Münsterland area in Germany, where we had a nice tour of the historic center.
Since Werne (population: 32,500) received its market-rights in 1362, the famous Simon-Juda-Markt is held every October. It is the largest festival in the Lippe area, with 400,000 visitors annually.
Werne is also famous for its salty thermal baths at Thermalbades Werne, after salt was discovered in the town’s coal mines in 1873. The coal mine was closed in 1975.
