For Christmas I got a Wingscapes Birdcam from Santa. It’s a weather-resistant outdoor camera designed to take photos and videos of birds. I’ve had it take photos for the last couple of days and the backyard Birdcam bird count is up to twelve species. Here are some of the photos we’ve gotten so far: Blue Jay; American Tree Sparrow; Mourning Dove.
The camera can be adjusted to take more or fewer photos per event and the pause time between events can also be customized. I’ve been having fun playing with it to find the best settings for the current location we are using.
We’re using the optional arm to point the camera at a small round platform feeder. The feed is a mix of sunflower seeds with some birdnuts John B. Sanfilippo & Son outlet store. Birdnuts are floor sweepings from the factory floor. Sanfilippo produces Fisher nuts and other goodies.
The cam also takes videos. I put this together from clips made by the cam yesterday.
Keep an eye on the blog at Magnificentfrigatebird.com for more Birdcam photos.
