2004
The year 2004
In 2004 we made a road-trip in Tunisia (where we visited Tunis, Cartaghe, El Jem, Dougga, Matmata, Douz and Tozeur) and a road-trip from Chicago to Colorado (where we visited Rocky Mountain National Park, Mese Verde and Great Sand Dunes). We also went a weekend to Rome, London and het Vennenbos, and we made day trips to Germany, France and Belgium.

1/15 On 13 February we went to Amsterdam for a day and visited the Historisch Museum.

2/15 20 March was a very nice day. We biked around Leiden and went to a sheep-sheering demonstration.

3/15 From 3 to 17 April 2004 we traveled to Tunisia. We visited medinas, mosques, Roman monuments, famous movie locations, breathtaking canyons and sandy beaches, and much more. Click here for more photos

4/15 The first weekend of May in 2004 we went to London for a few days to see Gillian Anderson in the West End. We also visited the National Gallery, British Museum and did a lot of walking around, sightseeing and shopping.Click here for more photos

5/15 On 30 May we visited the Rijksmuseum van Oudheden ("National Museum of Antiquities") in Leiden, which features the Egyptian temple of Taffa, which was moved here by UNESCO.

6/15 From 16 to 19 July we went to Rome. We visited the Vatican, Appian Way, and many beautiful churches, piazze, and fountains.Click here for more photos

7/15 On 8 August we went to Warmond, north of Leiden, with Arthur's parents and visited the Kagerplassen recreational area.

8/15 On 18 August we went to the biggest book market in the country in Deventer. Here we take the ferry across the IJssel river. This photo was taken with Amy's tiny USB stick digital camera.

9/15 On 28 August we flew to Chicago and the next day we saw a baseball game between the Chicago Cubs and Houston Astros at Wrigley Field.

10/15 From 1 to 14 September we made a road trip with Amy's parents to Colorado, where visited National Parks, saw magnificent mountains and lots of elk.Click here for more photos

11/15 On 9 October we drove down to Lille to shop. Around the center were these huge bamboo constructions for the Grande F?te des Bambous et de L'Afrique.

13/15 On 29 November we took Arthur's parents to the Christmas markets in Essen and the Centro of Oberhausen in Germany.

14/15 On 4 December we went to Amsterdam for the day. Here we are on the Dam square.

15/15 On Christmas Day Arthur's parents and Patrick came over to Leiden. Here are Alex (top) and Arby (bottom) with their 'Merry Christmas' bandanas.
